Hello and welcome to the new blog for Camp Kippewa! We wanted a way to connect with you and bring you resources, suggestions, activities, articles, media, and information ranging from camp news to DIY projects to awesome sandwich shops in Maine! Comments and engagement are encouraged. We want to reach out to you but we also love hearing from you! Whether you are an alumnus, a camper, a parent, or someone who has just stumbled across our blog, we want to welcome you to this community. We’re mighty glad you’re here!

Today, we wanted to share an article from the Washington Post which discusses how spending time away from home can really be beneficial to young people. It also includes an interview with  Michael Thompson, author of Homesick and Happy: How Time Away From Parents Can Help a Child Grow, which is a book we highly recommend.
