EQUESTRIAN PROGRAM

Our Equestrian Program provides the level of instruction found in specialized riding camps, within a traditional summer camp setting. From our Introductory Program designed for girls new to riding, to our Core Riding Program with daily sessions 6 days a week to our Intensive Program for passionate riders, campers can find an option that matches their level of interest and goals. For those looking for a more focused riding camp experience, we also offer a separate 12-day, specialized riding camp: Kippewa Equestrian Academy.
All riders work with our highly qualified, dedicated instructors at their own pace in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Our instructors, who come from top college programs and countries around the world, are committed to meeting the unique needs of each rider. Lessons are conducted in semi-private or small groups, allowing for focused instructions and in-depth explanations with personalized attention and support.
Our program provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy non-competitive, top-notch Huntseat Equitation riding instruction with an emphasis on safety, fun and skill development following the standards of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).
OUR PROGRAMS
Introductory Program
We tailor our introductory riding program to young, beginning riders. Lessons are included in their schedule for one week of camp and are provided one-on-one or two-on-one. This is the perfect program for girls who are interested in learning proper horsemanship skills, safety skills, having fun, and most importantly, experiencing the joy of RIDING. First time riders only, enrollment is limited.
$500 for 5 lessons
Core Program
Girls ride for one hour, six days a week focusing on Huntseat equitation for beginners through advanced riders. Girls start by building a solid foundation on the flat at all gaits, which is essential to any riding discipline. Once girls demonstrate good form, control and understanding of aids on the flat then they begin to explore more advanced hunter equitation over fences along with other forms of the English riding style such as dressage, jumpers and cross country. In addition to mounted lessons they spend at least two sessions learning how to groom a horse, tack them up, clean the equipment, feed the horses, organize the barn, and even muck the stalls!
$925 for full session
$650 for 2-weeks
Intensive Program
Our Intensive Riding Program is for riders of all levels, from beginners through advanced riders with show experience, who want to dedicate more time at camp to riding. This program requires a commitment of two and a half hours each day at the stables, improving campers’ equestrian skills and knowledge with lessons in Huntseat equitation, horsemanship and horse training. Limited enrollment in the intensive program allows for our already individualized instruction to be even more personalized. Each daily lesson also includes horse care: cleaning stalls, grooming, tacking up and un-tacking, assisting with feeding the horses and learning about horse anatomy and development. We only accept a small number of girls into this program each year.
$1,600 for full session
$925 for 2-weeks
