Camp Kippewa is excited to welcome back Family Camp in Summer 2021!
Kippewa Family Camp began back in 2009 and has run every summer since then. Our families return year after year for the fun and camaraderie of an inclusive, multi activity experience for all ages.
Summer 2020 was unique in many ways. We ran three different sessions of Family Camp, for two weeks at a time, putting into place a variety of protocols and following guidance and regulations from Maine CDC and Department of Health. For summer 2021 we are returning to our traditional 6-day Family Camp session, taking place in mid-August. Our experience in 2020 taught us that it is possible to create a safe space for families to enjoy the camping experience. We are also excited about the prospect of the public health situation improving during 2021, so if the procedures and guidelines change, we will adapt with them! We will update this space and our enrolled families if/when there are changes, and as we learn more about what is needed to safely bring people together again within our Kippewa community.
