Meet KPT’s Director
Jackie and the Clares – Summer 2012
Jackie Brethel, KPT Director and lifelong camper, first worked with Ginger and Steve Clare, Kippewa Directors, in 2010. After 7 wonderful summers at Camp Kippewa and it’s brother camp, Camp Cobbossee, Jackie went on to further her decade-long professional camp career at another all-girls camp in the Berkshires. She is thrilled to have returned home to the sun kissed shores of Lake Cobbosseecontee to direct Kippewa Point!
Together, Jackie, Ginger and Steve are bottling the Kippewa magic while creating something totally unique and special for families looking for a shorter camp experience! Jackie and the KPT team are committed to building a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment packed with new adventures and meaningful friendships!
Jackie is an outstanding camp director. She is intelligent, creative and warm; but what is so special and unique about her is that she knows every child at camp and treats every child and family as if they’re her only family. Jackie gives everything her personal touch! Our lives have been enhanced by having Jackie in them.– Becky, Camp Parent
I remember the moment that the camp bug bit me. I was 9 years old, sitting on a damp log at Campfire on my very first night at camp. I looked across the circle at a group of girls and counselors I barely knew and I felt it. This. This was something special. This was something that I wanted to experience over and over again.
In the decades since that moment, I have been lucky enough to have camp be a consistent part of my life. As a lifelong camper and staff member, I have held dozens of positions, partnered with hundreds of families, mentored scores of staff, met friends from around the globe and attended countless campfires.
I look forward to getting to know your daughter – and being there for the moment the camp bug bites her, too!
Warmly,
