Kippewa Offers Three Separate Camps Located on the Same Beautiful Lakefront Property in Maine.
Welcome to Kippewa!
- Camp Kippewa is located in Monmouth, Maine, on beautiful Lake Cobbossecontee. Originally founded by the Silverman family, Kippewa has been a traditional all-girls sleepaway camp since 1958. Ginger and Steve Clare took over as directors in 2008 and haven’t looked back since!
- Kippewa Equestrian Academy was founded summer 2019, providing opportunities for horse-loving campers to enjoy even more time in our amazing equestrian facility.
- Camp Kippewa Point took off summer 2023 with director Jackie Brethel leading the way. We provide a warm and fun camp experience for girls who are looking for a traditional two-week camp option!
Which Kippewa is Right for You?
While all of our camps have the same underlying feeling and style, there are differences between them. Check out the chart below for a quick look at what makes them unique.
Our two-week traditional camp with around 70 campers per session, entering 1st – 9th grades. Campers enjoy our hybrid activity scheduling in order to provide a full range of experiences, while also giving them the autonomy of choice during their time at camp. Cabins and facilities are brand new as of summer 2023 and 2024 with even more exciting new additions in 2025! Four unique sessions each with their own progression of campers arriving and departing together, making good friends, and experiencing everything that camp has to offer. Our traditional, 3 1/2 week camp. Around 190 campers in total with our Customized Camping activity selection. We have two sessions, each one providing a full experience with opening campfires, final banquets, and more! For girls entering 2nd – 10th grades with opportunity to become a junior counselor in the future. Please note, we have limited availability in many age groups. Our two-week equestrian specialty camp. Around 20+ campers entering 4th – 11th grades live in a special bunk that overlooks the horses as they graze in their turn-outs. Campers experience the lifestyle of a horse owner with a combination of riding, learning about, working with, and caring for the horses, and more! Campers also experience daily traditional camp activities such as swimming in the lake, archery, tennis, rock climbing, tie-dye, and campfires.
