With so many disciplines to choose from, every camper has the ability to express herself through a newfound skill or a favorite passion. Campers can concentrate in the fine arts of painting, drawing and photography, or learn a craft through hands-on instruction in pottery, needlecrafts, knitting, textile arts, silk-screening, leathercraft, jewelry making, woodworking and stained glass.
A dozen studios fill three buildings and careful scheduling keeps the classes small. Scenic views of the lake and rolling hills are perfect for outdoor art classes where nature provides the inspiration. Maine is a summer (and year-round) haven for many artists and craftspeople providing a wide range of local talent to draw on for “artist-in-residence” programs and one-day workshops and field trips. Campers show off their work in a full-scale exhibit at the end of each session.
