Special Events & Traditions
Special events and camp traditions are a special part of Kippewa.
Each night has an evening activity. Activities range from bunk nights to division nights to all-camp special events. Some all-camp favorites include our Casino Night, Kippyween and Gold Rush.
Campfires, songs in the dining hall, bunk plaques, camp sisters, ice man and final banquet are just some of the revered camp traditions dating back to the 1950’s when camp first started.
Our OCs (Oldest Campers) plan the annual Lobster Bake and Color War, and run our weekly campfires. We enjoy an afternoon Carnival and 4th of July celebration with our brother camp, Camp Cobbossee. They truly put the “special” in special event!
And of course, we have some surprises in store too… you can’t expect us to give away all our secrets!
